More about Samantha

Samantha Fleming is licensed to practice law in Alaska, California, and Oklahoma. Samantha enjoys throwing herself into new Alaska activities, to include dip netting and accidentally hiking ten miles with more active legal assistants. She channels her aggression when she’s bad at these activities, into her cross examination preparation.

In 2018 she moved to Alaska and has been actively practicing in Alaska for over four (4) years, originally practicing under a waiver. Her primary focus is family law to include divorce, custody, civil domestic violence, and Child in Need of Aid (CINA) cases. Samantha is most proud of her work on a same-sex custody case, where she has successfully argued for her client’s legal and physical custody rights under the psychological parent analysis. This case was subsequently upheld by the Alaska Supreme Court. Prior to moving to Alaska, Samantha developed her love for litigation while working as an Assistant District Attorney in Oklahoma from 2015-2018. During this time, she also developed her fear of tornadoes and large hail.

Samantha obtained her Juris Doctor (JD) degree from Pepperdine Caruso School of Law in 2014. Prior to being a licensed attorney, Samantha was a licensed law clerk with the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office and Ventura County District Attorney’s Office. Samantha also interned as a law clerk at the High Court, Criminal Division in Uganda and assisted in the preliminary efforts to implement plea bargaining into the Ugandan criminal justice system.
